The British media "Mirror" reported that the former Brazil international player was arrested for the fourth time because he owed 31,500 pounds in child support. If he was detained in his native Brazil on Tuesday, he was said to owe a debt of £31,500.

Police found Ruoshi attending a barbecue event at a street food stall in the Barra da Tijuca district of Rio de Janeiro. Ruo's arrest warrant is related to a 2024 case involving unpaid child support.

The amount of the debt specified in the court order is 220,744.57 Brazilian reals (approximately 31,500 pounds). After the police arrested him, he will be taken to the 16th police station in the Barra da Tijuca district. Last year, Jozen was detained twice in Campinas and once in Contazen for the same issue.

Ex-girlfriend Maiara Quadroli quickly commented on reports of being arrested in 2024, but it is unclear whether the debt is related to their son Joao Gabriel. Quadroli said in a video posted on Instagram: "I chose a terrible father for my son."

"I can't get the support I deserve. Even if he pays it on the stipulated date, the amount is always different, so I never get the amount I deserve. This is the only obligation clearly stipulated by the law, but he never can do it! Every time I ask for the money, it feels like suffering, and he always thinks I am wrong."

Ruojun was previously released after paying the money required by the authorities. The player announced his retirement for the second time earlier this year after playing for Brazilian fourth-division side Itabirito.

In 2008, Ruo transferred to Manchester City from CSKA Moscow for 19 million pounds. He played 42 games for the team and only scored 6 goals. He was later loaned to Everton and Galatasaray by the club.
