Taoyuan cat grandfather Huang Tianen adopted cats in the name of love, but was found out that he really abandoned them? He started to adopt cats three years ago, but did not neuter them. He has bred to nearly 200 cats. He also keeps relatives’ cats in private houses, and leaves those he doesn’t like to fend for themselves in the wilderness. The Hsinchu Want Want Stray Animal Association stated that this is the only reported case of mass-breeding abandoned cats in Taiwan's history. The abandonment site in Hsinchu is like a cat purgatory. The Want Want Stray Animal Association calls on cat lovers not to be deceived again.
Yang Yingping, chairman of the Hsinchu Wangwang Stray Animal Association, said in a phone interview with "ETtoday" that volunteers were driving and parked on the side of the road to talk on the phone in the evening of June 15 this year. , I found a long-haired gray and white cat jumping out by the bridge. The fur was tangled, messy and looked sick. Because the place was quite remote, it was unlikely to be a lost cat, so I took a photo and found out it was a Persian Siamese cat. I thought it was an abandoned case, so I bought a can after the work and went back to prepare for trapping and placement, only to find that the situation was even more difficult.
When the volunteer set up the trap, prepared the cans and swept the lights, he found that there were more than a dozen long-haired cats looking at him in the dark environment, and the cats' fur was quite messy and full of fleas. Some of them were because of The hair is too tangled, causing the entire hair on the back to be torn off; the environment is stinky, dirty, green water, cockroaches and ants are everywhere, and there are cats that accidentally step on nails, with ulcers on their faces, backs, and limbs. These poor babies are all Persian cats, including Persian, Chinchilla, Siamese, British Shorthair, Himalayan and other breeds.
The volunteers found it strange that as they walked along the path, they found long-dead cats, cats that had not eaten, cats that were so hungry that they ate their kittens, and even cats that had turned into bones, scattered around along the path. What they thought was an isolated case turned out to be a large number of abandoned cats. After volunteers waited for several weeks, they finally found the owner of the abandoned cat house. The old man was still holding a cat basket in his hand, and in less than 15 seconds, he dropped several Persian cats.
The volunteers followed the old man to his residence and found that the pickup truck parked at the door had Tian En Trading Company printed on it. They found out after asking the neighbors. , the old man started raising a large number of cats here in 2015, but he did not live here. He reported the case to the police but could not control it. After inquiring, he found that the person who abandoned the cats so cruelly was the Taoyuan cat grandfather Huang Tianen who gave away cats for adoption on the Internet.
Yang Yingping said that during the ambush, the volunteers tried to inquire about the status and whereabouts of the cats with Huang Tianen, and accidentally found out that in addition to Hukou and Xinfeng in Hsinchu, there were also similar cat purgatory in Longtan and Yangmei in Taoyuan! The volunteers were anxious to know the location, but Huang Tianen was very vigilant and reluctant to reveal it. The volunteers are afraid that by alerting the cat, Huang Tianen may find a new place to be abandoned, so they can only follow Huang Tianen to rescue the abandoned cats and place them for observation.
At present, the Council of Agriculture has not fully legislated that cats must be neutered, so illegal breeding and abandonment are quite rampant. Some of the rescued cats cannot be neutered due to malnutrition and must be rested for a period of time before being evaluated. Yang Yingping hopes that through the Grandpa Cat incident, the government and the public will pay attention to the importance of neutering dogs and cats. Regarding the cat abandonment incident, Grandpa Cat has not yet answered the phone to respond.
