I believe that many dog owners have heard of kennel cough. This is actually an infectious respiratory disease caused by a variety of pathogens and can spread rapidly. Most dogs that have been in contact with affected dogs will be infected. So how to tell whether it is kennel cough, and how should owners respond? The editor will tell you about it below.

1. Kennel cough generally manifests as sudden onset of coughing, runny nose, sneezing, irregular spitting, increased eye and nose secretions, etc. At first, there was a dry cough, which gradually turned into a wet cough, and the serous nasal discharge turned into purulent nasal discharge. When the situation is severe, symptoms such as poor breathing and awakening, continuous rapid breathing, and body tremors are often manifested.

2. Kennel cough usually occurs in puppies between 2 and 3 months old, mostly in summer and autumn, and is contagious. It usually occurs in groups. It is recommended that owners take their dogs to the pet hospital for treatment immediately when they find that their dogs have kennel cough.

3. In view of clinical symptoms, it is recommended to give dogs oral medications containing doxycycline and other ingredients, and then use Chinese medicine preparations containing ingredients such as Maxing Shigan Powder and Guargenin. In addition, measures need to be taken to keep the dog warm during the treatment, especially in areas with relatively cold environments. At the same time, strenuous exercise of the dog needs to be limited to avoid aggravation of symptoms.
