Parents should pay attention that in order to protect your rights and interests, when taking your dog to a pet hospital for health examination, they should first understand the reasons and significance of each health examination item! Dog examinations can be divided into the following four categories:

1. Basic Science Tests

You should know that the first item for each dog to go to the hospital for examination is basic Science Tests, which is to allow veterinarians to intuitively judge the dog's health status based on the appearance and physical symptoms of the dog, mainly including auscultation, palpation and barking!

2. Blood test

After the basic scientific test is completed, the next step is blood test. After drawing blood for the dog, the blood is then smeared, centrifuged and blood cell count tests. This allows doctors to better judge the dog's organ function, blood quality and whether there are parasites in the body!

3. Imaging test

This process allows doctors to intuitively see the location and size of the injury in the dog's body, such as the location of the fracture, the location of the tumor, and the condition of the fetus in the body. It can help them make the final judgment to see if they need to take medicine or undergo surgery. However, this test includes 4 categories:

1.X-ray: You can see the condition of the bones, the distribution of liquids, and whether there are foreign objects in the body. Most commonly used in abdominal examinations after dogs suffer accidental injuries (such as fractures) or swallowing foreign objects. For dogs with hip arrhythmia, they should also go to an animal hospital for X-rays of the joints at around 5 months of age.

2. Tomography: Dogs can also perform tomography. Tomography can combine the planar images of X-rays into a physical picture. This test is only checked when further tests are needed. Because the dog itself cannot lie on the stage for examination, it requires deep general anesthesia to be performed.

3. Ultrasound: Ultrasound can show abnormalities in the soft tissue structure in the body. For example, the location and size of the tumor can be understood through the differences in sound echoes in the liver. Pregnant female dogs can also use ultrasound to detect whether the puppy's heartbeat, body size, and whether the fetal position is correct. However, ultrasound itself cannot penetrate air and bones, so the condition of the lungs and bones cannot be detected. In addition, fat can also interfere with the speed of sound wave penetration, which in turn affects the image quality, so when obese dogs undergo ultrasound testing, the image quality will be relatively poor.

4. Electrocardiogram: It measures the current conduction of the heart. When the veterinary doctor finds that the heart has abnormal heart sounds or frequency after listening to the diagnosis, further electrocardiogram test is required. Moreover, only electrocardiograms can be used to determine certain heart diseases, so they are indispensable items in health examinations.

4. Feces and urine tests

From ancient times to the present, there has been a saying that people or animals are healthy by their color and smell, and this statement has been used to this day. But now, with technological factors, we can more accurately detect gastrointestinal, blood or kidney problems.
