According to TA, Arsenal new player Maduaike will be registered as a local player in the Premier League in the new season.

Maduaike joined Arsenal from Chelsea last week, and has previously registered as a foreign player. However, it is reported that the Premier League has updated its registration status, which means that Maduaike will not be included in non-local players.

In 2018, 16-year-old Maduaike transferred from Tottenham to Eindhoven and played until January 2023, before joining Chelsea before his 21st birthday. The Premier League has confirmed that despite not playing in the first team, he has played for the Tottenham youth team for at least three seasons, thus meeting the prescribed requirements.

However, TA pointed out that since UEFA's definition of local players is different, Maduaike will still be regarded as a foreign player on the European competition registration list. UEFA defines local players as players aged 15 to 21 years old or have been training or competed in their clubs (or other clubs of the same national association) for at least three years.
