
With Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit this year approaching its 10th anniversary, Executive Director Cristiano Amon emphasized that Qualcomm's vision is to bring AI to various places (AI Everywhere), that is, to promote AI development through mutual promotion, further expand its influence, make AI stronger in the equipment side, and help many equipment transform. He also said that this year is an important milestone and will enter a new generation in the future.
Amon pointed out that Snapdragon brought smart phones to mobile computing, into digitalization, and extended to wearable, PC and vehicle fields. Looking back at the past, Qualcomm proposed at the peak meeting in 2021 that edge operation is the key to AI's future, launching real-time experience and expansion in 2022, and in 2023, it said that AI is the new user interface. In 2024, it took the lead in displaying the world's first large-scale multimodal language model on Android phones. This year, it will continue to expand its technology, help AI spread everywhere, and increase the token rate of large-scale language models by more than tripling.
Amon believes that AI is responsible for handling complex and intensive tasks on the cloud, and edge computing has real-time and contextualization. He also shares six major trends under the AI trend, namely: AI becomes a new user interface, transitioning from a smart phone to an AI intelligence (Agent-Centric), computing architecture transformation, hybrid model trend, edge data correlation, and future perception network rise.

Under these trends, Amon said that in the past it was "mobile equipment learning how to calculate", but in the future it was "computing learning us", they would observe, learn, and think about how to interact. In the future, they would be personalized and human-oriented, creating user-oriented ecosystems, regardless of headphones, lenses or watches, from auxiliary functions to intelligent functions, and try to understand people's ideas.

In addition, Amon also talked about the importance of connection, and it is more important to strengthen the connection between the cloud terminal and the edge, and it requires continuous connection. He also said that as soon as 2028, artificial intelligence will be pushed to every device corner, and finally AI will appear in every edge device. These devices will be "commercial appearance design" testing devices made in accordance with the 6G specification at that time (referring to the global standards developed by 3GPP). The purpose of these devices is to conduct tests and to demonstrate 6G use cases in the real world.
Finally, Amon said that the value of Snapdragon lies in the ability to integrate various technologies. If the "algorithm revolution" is aimed at the entire ecological system, then the core of the "ecological system" lies in the importance of edge computing. AI will promote the development of new user interfaces, and the computing structure will gradually change. Under such connections, environment connection technologies such as Wi-Fi and blue teeth will become an indispensable foundation for intelligent interaction.
