The White House stated today that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump currently has no intention to sell artificial intelligence (AI) chip giant NVIDIA (NVIDIA)'s most advanced Blackwell AI chips to China.

Reuters reported that White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said at a press conference at the White House: "As for the most advanced chips, such as Blackwell chips, we currently have no intention to sell them to China."

Levitt’s statement is consistent with Trump’s speech on the 2nd. At that time, Trump said that the most advanced chips produced by NVIDIA would be reserved for American companies and would not be provided to China and other countries.

Since August, the outside world has paid close attention to whether Trump will allow the "downgraded version" of Blackwell chips to be sold, because he has hinted that he may open up the sale of such chips.

On his way to South Korea to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, Trump said that he would discuss the Blackwell chip issue when he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. But Trump later said he did not discuss the matter when he met with Xi Jinping.
